Wang is heir to the local family restaraunt business and old friend to Jack Burton. The film is set in motion when Wang and Jack witness Wang's fiancee being kidnapped by the local crime syndicate. Because Wang owes Jack a lot of money for a bet he lost, this is how he convinces Jack to stay and help. Wang is an extraordinary martial artist and is responsible for the majority of the film's heroics.
