Prado is the Assistant District Attorney for the city of Miami. He is a high-profile politician who is well-known for being particularly tough on crime. Because of his tough stance on crime he is something of a hero for many members of the law enforcement community. He feels that the constraints of the American legal system (as well as the work of defense attorneys) leaves him unable to successfully prosecute some murderers. This makes him more willing to accept the methods Dexter has chosen for dealing out justice. Prado enters our story when his brother Oscar is murdered and he inquires about the case with Miami Metro homicide.
