Debra is a homicide detective with Miami Metro and the adoptive sister of Dexter Morgan. Debra's personality tends to be hot-blooded, as she often will act out of raw emotional rather than carefully considering all options. She is sensitive, but will tend to lash out at those who hurt her rather than shrink into self-pity. She cares deeply for her friends and family, particularly Dexter. Debra is notorious for having a potty mouth and her curse words appear to flow freely in every situation, appropriate and otherwise.Background: Debra is the child of Harry and Doris Morgan. Growing up as something of a tomboy she was constantly fighting for the attention Dexter got from her father. Her mother Doris Morgan died when she was an adolescent. The death of Harry is what inspired her to join the police academy. Dexter is essentially her only family.
