Zach is the son of Ed Hamilton, who is one of the first suspects in the Brain Surgeon murders investigation. Zach comes across as a typical arrogant rich kid. He makes a point to tell Dexter that his father could not have committed the murders. Gradually he becomes more and more interested in Dexter and his work, continually showing up at crime scenes with his camera.
