Aladdin is one of the characters in the classical Arabian fairy tale book The One Thousand and One Arabian Nights .The story is about a young boy (who was Chinese in the original story, but is depicted in most media as Arabian since the One Thousand and One Nights is an Arabian book) who is in love with the princess of his kingdom, but he can't meet her because heis a simple villager. One day, a man claiming to be his long-lost uncle appears and makes him go to the secret Cave of Wonders. The cave has many treasures, but the man is interested in only one thing: a golden lamp.When Alsddin gives it to him, it's revealed that the man was a villain posing as his uncle that wanted to gain the lamp for his own selfish needs. He snatches the lamp and tramps Aladdin inside the Cave. Aladdin is saddened until he accidentally rubs a golden ring he found there. There, he finds that both the lamp and the ring are magical objects, and they summons genies that grant three wishes when they are rubbed. Aladdin uses the genie of the ring to get out of the cave, while the villain uses the genie of the lamp to take over the kingdom and force the princess to marry him. In the end, Aladdin uses his remaining two wishes to recover the lamp and defeat the villain. The princess, overjoyed and impressed with his heroism, marries Aladdin.Disney used this story as the basis for one of their animated movies, Aladdin . There, Aladdin is not just a villager but also a thief (everyone calls him street rat ), the villain is named Jafar and, instead of posing as his uncle, he poses as a beggar, there is no magical ring and the villain only gets the lamp at the very end, and the princess (who is named Jasmine in this version) is depicted as tired of all the princes offering their hands in marriage and preferring honesty and purity of heart over royal titles. Also, the genie of the lamps gets more screen time and is fleshed out as a character more.This version of Aladdin appears as a guest in House of Mouse .In the sequel, The Return of Jafar , Jafar comes back to get his revenge on Aladdin, but he ends up defeating him again.In the television series Aladdin , he moves in to live in the palace and has many adventures.In Aladdin and the King of Thieves , Aladdin is finally gonna marry Jasmine. However, their wedding is interrupted by the King of Thieves, who has captured Aladdin's father and wants to steal the mythical Hand of Midas. In the end, Aladdin defeats him and rescues his father.He appears in all three Kingdom Hearts video games.In Kingdom Hearts , Jafar uses the Heartless to steal the magic lamp and takes over the kingdom. Aladdin teams up with Sora, Goofy and Donald and defeats him.In Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories , Jafar comes back and tries to use the Heartless to get his revenge on the heroes, but he defeats them again.In Kingdom Hearts II , Jafar teams up with Pete in a second attempt at revenge, but the heroes defeat him again.
