Miss Beryl Peoples is an elderly widow lady who rents a room in her large old house to Daniel Sullivan. He works in construction but keeps putting off fixing her front porch railing. She kindly offers him cups of tea which he refuses to drink. He does keep the snow off of her sidewalks, but uses a stolen snowblower to do the job. Miss Beryl has a son called The Bank by Sully. Miss Beryl clearly prefers Sully to Clint, Jr. who is pompous and bossy and, it turns out, something of a coward.Miss Beryl was portrayed by Jessica Tandy, In her final film appearance.
