Bret Stiles is the leader of the Visualize cult. He was a early member of the cult and may have been involved in the death of the cult's founder. He and Jane have been allies at times, sometimes against Red John. Stiles claims that he knows more about Red John than even Red John knows. This was given more credibility when it was revealed that Red John was once a member of Visualize, and the trademark smiley face on a farm once owned by Visualize, is the earliest know occurrence of the sinister symbol. Stiles is one of Jane's seven suspects to be Red John. Some fans believe that while Stiles is not Red John, he may know who Red John is. Whatever Stiles knew about Red John may never be revealed, as Stiles was revealed to be dying of cancer, but was killed by bombs planted by Red John.
