Detective Inspector Joseph Chandler is the son of a high ranking police official in the London Metropolitan Police Department. His direct superior, Commander Anderson, promised Chandler's father that he would look after the young Chandler and guide his career. As a result Chandler has fast tracked through the department, and has been given the job of Detective Inspector of the Whitechapel area before he was ready. College educated and media savvy, Chandler often stands apart from his men. Despite his shortcomings, Chandler desires to be a good detective.
