Dr. Leonora Orantes graduated with a P.h.D in Epidemiology and Epidemiological Statistics and worked for the World Health Organization. Dr. Orantes moved to Geneva after her graduation in 2005, where she worked as an Executive Epidemiological Officer. She is 35 years old and is from Montreux. Dr. Orantes went to Hong Kong during the Meningoencephalitis virus type 1 outbreak to find out about Patient Zero (Beth Emhoff) and how the virus started. Once she arrived at the Hong Kong airport, she met with her liaison, Sun Feng. They investigated a couple of patients together and found out the people that were infected around Beth Emhoff. She reviewed the casino footage of where Emhoff had been. Sun Feng and his colleagues started to drive her to the airport when they stopped the car, kidnapped her and used her as a host until they get the vaccine.Dr. Orantes is currently in Hong Kong after she refused to go back with the C.E.O, Damian Leopold when he gave the Chinese placebos instead of real vaccines for the virus.It is unknown what happens after that.
