Husband to Rita and father to Tommy, who lived with them and his Mother-in-Law, in Florizel Street, Muswell Hill, North London. An ex-serviceman sine the Second World War, Eddie's pride and patriotism bordered on extremism. He was scared by the changes occuring in 1950's Britain, realising they didn't fit his veiw of the world, which manifested itself as bullying towards his wife and son. When the Doctor visited his home and embarrassed him in front of his family, he got worse and had the faceless Grandma (who actually owned the house) removed by the police. When Rita discovered that Eddie had done this to her Mother, and other friends and neighbours, she threw him out of the house in front of other members of their family.
