Father Pablo Ramirez
Father Pablo Ramirez
When he was a teenager, Pablo Ramirez left for the monastery to become a priest, leaving his poverty stricken family: his parents and his little brother Tuco behind. Pablo is a very generous and caring man, who during the Civil War looked after the soldiers while Tuco, who had become a bandit to provide for his family, was consumed by greed and ambition and became preoccupied. In 1862, their father died, and Pablo was the only one who was available to go and see him. Tuco, whom Pablo hadn't seen since 1853, was unaware of this and was struck hard by the news. Pablo unsympathetically chided his brother for not knowing about this, but Tuco struck back, reminding Pablo that HE was the one who looked after their parents. The brothers fell out over their separate lifestyles, with Pablo being left behind at the monastery, quietly begging for forgiveness.
