The Flying Dutchman is a green pirate ghost who haunts Bikini Bottom because he was never laid to rest after he died. He has a big black beard, pirate's hat, beady eyes and floats around with no legs.He is a nasty ghost who constantly tries to steal the souls of Bikini Bottom's residents. He is also able to open portals to other dimensions to banish his enemies, make objects appear out of thin air and grant wishes. King Neptune is his chief enemy.He is offended by Halloween costumes in his image.He speaks with a Scottish Pirate accent. He has a sister named Sally Dutchman.
