Mermaid Man is a semi-retired super hero who lives in Bikini Bottom and starred in The Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, along with his sidekick, 40 years ago. They are heroes to SpongeBob SquarePants and his friend Patrick Star.The pair is now elderly and lives at Shady Shoals Rest Home.Mermaid Man's powers are similar to Aquaman of the comic books. He appears to be human, although of a proportional size to the other characters. When he was younger he had a typical superhero's strapping physique, but now he is overweight and hunched over. He is depicted in a shell bikini top which doubles as a cell phone, a big belt with an M on it and pink slippers. His powers include the ability to control sea creatures and live underwater.Their secret headquarters is the Mermalair. Their enemies include the super villains Man Ray and Dirty Bubble, Atomic Flounder, Sinister Slug, Jumbo Shrimp, Kelp Thing and the Moth.His real name is Tim, as is Barnacle Boy's.
