Richard Cuesta is a Cook County District Judge who hears several of Alicia Florrick's cases. He hires Diane Lockhart in The Penalty Box in season three when charges are brought against him from his days as a prosecutor. She has to remind him that he needs to remain humble now that he is on the other side. He is estranged from his adult daughter and detests defense attorneys, even when he needs one.
