Leo Durocher was born July 27, 1905 in West Springfield, Massachusetts. He played for various teams 19281938. He gained notoriety as manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers; he was suspended from managing for the entire 1947 season for conduct detrimental to baseball. He managed the Giants 19481955, left to become a commentator, returned as coach for the Dodgers, and managed the Cubs and the Astros.
