Lid is the middle child of Griz and Jeweldine Comphrey, two naturists/hippies, who raised their progeny as members of the Bald Knob Nudist Colony in Georgia. Introduced to marijuana at a young age (10), he has openly admitted to taking over fifty acid trips before finally giving his life to Christ at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert and deciding to wear clothes full-time. His career in law enforcement began as the result of a deathbed dare by his father who said, according to one source, You got about as much chance of being a cop as I do making it into heaven.
