Mercutio is Romeo's best friend who persuades him to attend the Capulet party as he has invites for it, even though he is not part of the Capulet family. Mercutio gets stabbed with a shard of glass after a fight between Romeo, himself and Tybalt. Romeo, driven mad with rage and grief for the loss of his best friend , drives into Verona City and shoots Tybalt
