Patroclus is Achilles' cousin. He was left abandoned after his family was killed. In myth, he was meant to take over his father's kingdom but instead he chose to stay with his cousin. He wished deeply for battle and when Achilles was sleeping he took is sword and armor and led his army into battle, and died.
