There are two Pete Tylers, including one from an alternate universe. The original Pete Tyler is the deceased father of Rose Tyler, one of the Doctor's companions, and husband of Jackie Tyler.Pete was constantly involved in get-rich-quick schemes that mostly failed, causing problems in his marriage, as did his possible infidelity. In the first timeline, Pete died in a hit-and-run accident when Rose was less than a year old. In the second timeline, he is saved by his daughter in an act that causes a temporal paradox that must be repaired by drastic means.In the parallel universe, Rose and the Tenth Doctor encounter a version of Pete that Jackie ends up marrying again.
