Rick Thompson is the young teen son of Mike Thompson, a resistance fighter with the 2nd Mass. Rick is first seen with Ben Mason as one of a group of children who have been harnessed. When he is rescued and returned to the 2nd Mass, he appears to maintain a connection to the skitters and an appreciation for their way of thinking. Like Ben, he displays increased physical abilities as a result of having been harnessed.
