Rowena is the mother of Crowley, who was both neglectful and abusive throughout Crowley's childhood. Rowena was promiscuous during her life - even conceiving Crowley during an orgy, leaving his true father unknown to both of them - and chose to prioritize her own futile attempts at success over raising Crowley. To pursue what she referred to as a career, she eventually abandoned the young Crowley in a workhouse, estranging them for the next 300 years. When Rowena discovers her son has become the King of Hell, she tries desperately to win back his affections and trust, impressed with how successful he has become, and eager to share in that success.
