Sookie St. James is the best friend and co-worker of Lorelai Gilmore. They worked together at the Independence Inn, and then later at the Dragonfly. She is a very talented professional chef. She is also somewhat controlling in the kitchen and has a hard time letting anyone else help her with the food. In the season 2 finale, she marries Jackson Belleville. They have two children throughout the series, Davey and Martha. At the end of the series she announces that she's pregnant with her third child. She is somewhat scatter-brained and klutzy, and sometimes gets injured in the kitchen.
