Demosthenes, serving as a counterpart to Peter Wiggin's Locke persona, is a paranoid anti-Russia, anti-Warsaw Pact demagogue who rises to great prominence on Earth. However, Valentine's personal opinions are almost the complete opposite of the views she espouses through Demosthenes.
