Alexandra Rousseau is the daughter of Danielle Rousseau, a French researcher who was pregnant when her research team's boat broke down and was stranded on the island. Alex was kidnapped by The Others as an infant and raised by Ben, who treated her as his own daughter. Now a 16-year-old, Alex is looking to establish her own identity and place on the island, much to Ben's chagrin. She dates a boy about her age named Karl and Ben goes to great lengths to keep them apart, fearing would would happen if Alex got pregnant. Alex's fiery and rebellious personality is much like her mother's -- except that Alex hasn't actually lost her mind.
