Bernard Nadler is a survivor from the tail section of Oceanic Flight 815. He had gotten up to use the restroom when the plane broke in half in the sky and the two main pieces crashed down onto different parts of island. Bernard was a dentist who met his wife Rose not long before the crash. He proposed after they had dated for five months and she revealed she had terminal cancer with just a year to live. They married regardless and were on their honeymoon in Australia before the plane crashed during their return. On the island, Bernard is still buckled in his seat and trapped in a tree before he's coaxed down by Ana Lucia and Goodwin. He is worried when he doesn't find Rose.
