Cassie St. Cyr is the seemingly submissive sister of outspoken tent preacher Billy St. Cyr. She arrives in Harlan County along with Billy to set up shop and build a congregation -- a start-up that quickly draws the attention of criminal Boyd Crowder among others. She is stronger than she looks and, in fact, serves as the brains behind her brother's salvation operation.
