Cindy is the estranged daughter of Leo Poplar, an elderly client of court-appointed attorney Mike Flaherty. Cindy has been in rehab in Columbus, Ohio, but re-appears, keen to take an active role in her father's care (but only for his money). Her son, Kyle Timmons, has arrived in New Jersey before his mother, who he appears to hate passionately, hoping to live with the grandfather he had never met.
