Kyle Timmons is a 16 year old boy from Ohio who turns up in New Jersey to live with his grandfather, Leo, who he has never met. Unbeknownst to him, Leo has moved out of his home and is living in an aged care facility.Kyle makes it clear that he is estranged from his mother, a drug addict who is in rehab back in Columbus, and wants nothing to do with her. He moves in temporarily with Mike Flaherty, his grandfather's court-appointed guardian, and his family, and begins to wrestle on Mike's high school team.He is very successful and a college scholarship is a possibility. But then Cindy, his mother, arrives in New Jersey and everything starts to come apart.
