C.J. is a security guard at Crossroads Mall. He seems to be the one in charge, as the other guards look to him to be told what to do. Our first encounter with C.J. comes when the elevators doors open and he is standing there with his gun drawn. He orders the newly arrived survivors to hand over their weapons. He doesn't trust anyone, which is understandable, seeing as how the world has went to hell overnight. Michael sits down with C.J. to reason with him, getting the doors reinforced, putting HELP signs on the roof, etc.When more survivors arrive, C.J. threatens to kill anyone that tries to let the others in, turns out he is overpowered by others and, along with Bart, is locked in the holding cell (for his protection and the protection of others).Until later when the mall's power goes out, and C.J. has to show Michael and Kenneth where the generators are, he is released. While in the garage, zombies attack and kill Bart. C.J., Michael, and Kenneth fight side by side and get away. Since then, C.J. is not put back in the holding cell, instead, he changes from the complete jerk that he was in the beginning, to more gentle yet still a badass when needed. C.J. sets everything right when he inadvertently sacrifices himself to save the others at the end. RIP C.J.
