Dr. Eric Gablehauser is the head of the Physics Department at the California Institute of Technology and the boss of Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter and Raj Koothrappali. He hosts various department events, including the Physics Bowl , and runs interference between Sheldon and Leslie Winkle. Like everyone else, he emphasizes the fact that everyone but Howard Wolowitz has a Ph.D., calling him Mr. and everyone else with a Ph.D Dr. Sheldon is dismissive of him because he has written books which translate scientific concepts to layman's terms.
