Herc becomes a good friend to Jason Street after the two become roommates in the rehabilitation center where Street ends up after suffering the spinal cord injury that left him a quadriplegic. Herc has the same injury and is the person who introduces Street to quad rugby. Their friendship grows and they eventually go into business together.
