Mrs. Lorraine Saracen is the grandmother and primary caretaker of Matt Saracen, the newly installed quarterback of the Dillon High School football team. Matt, though, is really the caretaker as his grandmother suffers from dementia. She is the one he lives with after his father goes off to serve in Iraq and his mother left him at the age of 10.
