Introduced in the fourth season, Luke was a star player on Dillon High School's junior varsity team but is forced to transfer to East Dillon when it is discovered that he actually lives on that side of the district. His parents, unlike many in the community, are not fond of him playing football. He hooks up with popular student Becky Sproles and gets her pregnant, setting off a string of dramatic events.
