Jackson Herveaux is a werewolf and father of Alcide Herveaux. He taught his son about being a vampire and that they survive best as members of a pack, but he let teenage Alcide decide whether or not to join. He is the former packmaster of Jackson, Mississippi but was kicked out for ignominious reasons and now lives in a trailer park. He is still a useful resource for his son.As a wolf, Jackson's fur is black and his eyes are yellow. He is skilled in the use of a bow and arrow.
