A new FBI analyst for the Counter Terror Unit based in Los Angeles, Janis Gold develops a rivalry of sorts with Chloe O'Brian, who had previously been the undisputed queen of hacking around the office. A highly capable CTU employee, she is disturbed by her coworker's employ less-than-idealistic means during their investigations and vocally disapproves of torture as a means to getting answers -- even valuable ones.
