At the beginning of the series, Lucy is the beautiful girlfriend of Nucky Thompson, the most powerful man in Atlantic City. A former Ziegfeld Follies performer, Lucy has effectively retired at a very young age while having everything she could imagine as Nucky's girl. Living in the penthouse at the Ritz Carlton on the Boardwalk, lavished with jewelry and expensive outfits on command, Lucy is set until an Irish immigrant and mother of three comes into Nucky's life and -- to Lucy's utter dismay -- wins him over.
