Lyle is a fighter with the 2nd Massachusetts Militia Regiment who is eventually recruited to join John Pope's ragtag special fighting group known as the Berserkers. At one point, he, Pope and Crazy Lee consider leaving the 2nd Mass, but Maggie helps them think better of it. Lyle has a run in with Tector Murphy and holds a grudge for awhile. John Pope says of Lyle: You're an artist with C4, you really are.
