Marie Kessler is the aunt of Portland police detective Nick Burkhardt. She helped raise the boy after his parents were supposedly killed in a car accident. Marie first informs Nick of his Grimm heritage, providing him with a trailer full of reading material and weapons to aid in his inherited fight against supernatural beings known as Wesens. Despite her demeanor as a caring auntie, she is known as a merciless hunter and killer.
