Nadia Jazeem is the long lost love of Sayid Jarrah. The two were childhood friends in Iraq and she became involved in the insurgency against Saddam Hussein. Sayid, who was an interrogator for the Republican Guard, was assigned to interrogate her and instead helped her escape. Sayid's priority in life is to find his way back to Nadia, and he was headed to Los Angeles to find her when the plane crashed.
