Sue Snell was one of Carrie White's classmates. After feeling guilt for taunting Carrie when she got her first menstrual period, she persuaded her boyfriend, Tommy Ross into taking Carrie to the prom. She witnessed the disaster after a malicious prank was pulled on Carrie, along with learning that 73 people - including Tommy - died. Her mother wouldn't let her attend any of the funerals, and she ended up temporarily institutionalized.Years later, now a guidance counselor at the new high school, Sue still remembers prom night, where 73 people died. She came to believe Carrie White caused the deaths and the destruction of the original high school. When she tries to talk to Rachel Lang about the death of her friend, a water globe explodes, and Sue remembers Carrie White. She even took Rachel to where the original high school stood, wishing what was left of it would be torn down. Rachel refused to believe that Carrie White was her half sister from her biological father, Ralph White. Sue visits the institution where her mother is living at and tries to get her to talk to Rachel about what happened. Unfortunately, they arrive too late, and Sue died in the chaos.
