Teo is the 13-year-old son of the Mechanist who is left paraplegic following a flood in the Earth Kingdom. The pair resettles in the abandoned Northern Air Temple during the Hundred Year War. His father is an inventor who makes a glider for Teo that enables him to fly and learn to excel at aerial acrobatics. He meets Team Avatar at the temple when they arrive hoping to find surviving Air Nomads.
