Captain Tidwell is brought on to replace Lt. Davis when she is demoted after failing to find a way to get Crews off the force. His New York manners and slovenly looks rub the wrong way but his no nonsense attitude towards both Dt. Crews and Dt. Reese are a much needed break after Lt. Davis's constant harassment. Though initially annoying, his lack of interest in L.A.P.D. politics and his staunch faith in his Detectives soon begins to win them over, and maybe more then that for one Detective.
