Leland Stottlemeyer is the head of the Homicide division of the SFPD. He regularly employes Adrian Monk as a consultant for his cases, and is good friends with him. He was married, with two kids, when his wife divorced him in season 4. He eventually began dating Linda Fusco, a real estate tycoon, in season 5. Thier relationships ended when Linda was found guilty of murdering her partner. Lt. Disher, Leland's second in command so to speak, frequently annoys him with eccentric and seemingly pointless behaivor (such as being obsessed with a game and forgetting about work, or aspiring to be a living statue.) He is one of the only (if not the only) people, besides Natalie, who is truley a friend to Monk. Leland ends up getting remarried in Season 8 to a woman nick named T.K. (Her real name is Trudy).
