When all the children in the world speak simultaneously for the 456, Clement McDonald is the only adult in the world that is also affected. Gwen finds him in a mental hospital. Torchwood hopes he might be a key to what is happening to the children. We find out that when the children were taken in 1965, one of them escaped. That child grew up to be Clement, but his experience with the 456 had driven him mad.
