Jake Sisko is the human son of Deep Space 9 Captain Benjamin Sisko. He is initially unenthusiastic about living on the station, but soon begins to make friends and considers it home.His best friend is Nog, a Ferengi, which causes some tension with his father given the strained relationship between Ferengi and Bajorans. Nevertheless, Jake supports his friend, particularly when it comes to getting an education. He encourages him to attend school and even tutors him.Jake eventually takes an interest in Bajoran spiritual activities. He sometimes accompanies his father on missions off the station.During the Dominion War, Jake stays behind on the station to serve as a front line reporter. He later forms a resistance with Major Kira and Rom.Background: Jake enjoys camping, fishing and playing and watching baseball with his father, with whom he has a strong relationship. He does not show an interest in following in his father's footsteps in Starfleet, but instead has an interest in writing.His mother Jennifer died during the Borg attack Battle of Wolf 359 when Jake was 11.Like his father and grandfather, he learns to cook food at an early age instead of replicating it.He was born in 2355.
