Ralph Brentner is a large, strong and friendly middle-aged farm hand hampered by a slight disability. He has the strength of an ox and doesn't assume to be above anybody but always has friendly and useful advice in times of need. He meets Nick Andros and Tom Cullen outside of Oklahoma and goes on to be one of the committee's members, much to Harold Lauder's disgust!
