Stephanie Barnett is a surgical resident at Fremont Memorial Hospital whom Howard Wolowitz tries to impress by letting her drive the Mars Rover. She later becomes interested in Leonard Hofstadter instead, which prompts Howard to try to cut Leonard out of his life. Stephanie makes herself at home in Leonard and Sheldon Cooper's apartment, and keeps Sheldon in check by playing into his hypochondria with her medical knowledge.
