Tom Long is the town nerd, of sorts -- a young man with a borderline unhealthy appreciation for such fanboy media franchises as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and World of Warcraft. Often found hanging out at the Rammer Jammer (a bar) in bucolic Bluebell, Alabama, Tom initially falls for Zoe Hart, a New York surgeon, upon her sudden arrival in town -- though the big city girl has little interest in a man so young.Perhaps not so surprisingly, Tom lives in his mother's basement. He also loves hamsters.
