She vowed that if she ever got out of the elevator, she'd start speaking to her mother again. She has a lapdog.According to a You've Got Mail screenplay once posted on the Web, Veronica was an author who had been published by Eden Books, where Patricia was Managing Editor. This did not make it into the film, but it does explain why the character has a name rather than being credited as Woman in Elevator .
