Charlotte Lewis is an anthropologist who comes to the island as part of the science team that also included Daniel Faraday and Miles Straume. Miles thinks Charlotte has too familiar of a connection with the island and suggests that she's been there before. Charlotte grew up in England, unaware of where she was actually born. She attended the University of Kent for her undergraduate education and later Oxford for her doctoral degree in cultural anthropology, an interest that goes back to her desire to find her birthplace. Upon her arrival on the island, she's quickly taken hostage by the survivors of the plane crash.
